THE ACTIVITIES OF STUDENTS AFFAIRS UNIT

Student affairs unit of Edo State Polytechnic, Usen is one of the various units of the institution.

The Dean of students serves a central role in student learning and development in the institution.

The role of the Dean of students is to represent student interest and provide program and services that facilitates both student personal and academic growth. The office of the Dean of students creates opportunity for all students and staffs in seamless learning environment and provides a critical support structure for enriching the overall student experience.

The vision of the Division of student affairs is to provide excellent support and service for student from the first point of contact with the Polytechnics through to graduation.

Our core mandate is to provide wide range of program and services to:

  1. Recruit and support student through the application process and assist in the management of the Polytechnic enrolment.
  2. To promote students development and learning
  3. Enhance student health and wellness
  4. Ensure students experience at the management institute
  5. To provide enabling environment for meaningful development and social engagement.

The activities of the student affairs are based on values that are safe, active, caring, respectful, inclusive, healthy campus environment supports student learning, personal growth, retention and success.

The following values guide our activities and determine the strategic allocation of resources:

The work of the division of student affairs is collaborative and is delivered in partnership with faculties and schools, unit across campus, student governments and groups and community organization.

Our core activities reinforce the institutions academic mission and contribute to the broader learning environment.

The broader work of the student affair unit is carried out through the mechanism of the following areas:

  1. Athletics and Recreation
  2. Housing and Auxiliary Services
  3. Office of the Institution Registrar
  4. Student Life and Learning
  5. Student Services and Community Relations

Student Wellness Services

The student affairs Division of the institution is composed of the following

The main office has three staffs viz:

  1. The Dean of Students
  2. The Senior Assistants Registrar and

The Messenger

Portals – which is made up of nine staff which includes two Assistant Supervisors, three chief portals and four portals.

Administrative division takes care of the day to day administrative works of the student affairs unit in collaboration with other sub-heads within the student affairs unit of the institution

The Edo state institute of Technology and Management, Usen in order to create healthy social activities and sound learning recognizes the operation of thirty nine (39) Associations, fellowship and clubs. The under listed clubs, Association and fellowships are recognized in the institution.
