Public Relations/Protocol Officer

The Public Relations Officer severs as the Polytechnic Public Information’s Officer and is the key spokesperson to local, state and International media in all Polytechnics matters. Leads the Polytechnic public relations strategy, carrying out operating policies and procedures with a focus in the area of public relations, media relations, community relations and communication programs

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITY

Implementing strategic media relations campaign to ensure a positive public image for the polytechnic and promote media awareness of the institution activities.

Providing guidance and support to department planning event and other public relations activities. Works with both traditional news media and non-news media, such as talk shows, advertorials and bloggers to obtain coverage for the polytechnic.

Assist to develop and disseminate public relation materials, including press release, feature stories for the polytechnic magazine, social media content and internal communication pieces.

Researches and helps develop communications and talking point for the polytechnic management.

Represents the polytechnic at local, state and national meetings related to the area of media and public relations. Also, the polytechnic management with public appearances.

Serves as a key member of the polytechnic crisis preparedness and management team and providing communication responses.

Confers with Heads of Departments and committees to provide public relations consultations. 

TARGET

To create a professional public relations unit with the ability to plan and executive a comprehensive, proactive public strategy that advance the polytechnic mission and goals by building support for the institution and an understanding of its unique role.
Also, to establish a mutual and sustained relationship between the institution and its public; internal external.
