HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Food technology is the application of food science to the selection, preservation, processing, packaging, distribution, and use of safe food. The department is among the early departments created in the school. It was initially called Food Science and Technology until recently it was renamed Food Technology. Over the years it has trained students who are sound in Food technology. Currently awarding National Diploma (ND)

MISSION STATEMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT

To be the best world class department, offering Food Technology in line with global best practice. To incorporate studies on food composition, processing, analysis, safety, nutrition and preservation in order to produce graduates capable of performing and organizing operations in laboratories and factories of food processing organisation in compliance with statutory requirement for ethics, safety and World Health Organisation (WHO) Standard.

We are pleased to announce to the public that the application form for 2023/2024 academic session is now on sale.

Students with at least 5 credit units in their O-level result are eligible to apply.
